A 10^TH BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION

HFC Nostalgia Films in partnership with the Hailsham Pavilion is proud to announce the return of Charlie Chaplin's, The Kid. This film featured in the first public show at the Pavilion in 1921. The Kid comes with the original music composed by Chaplin. This heart-warming tale shows the little tramp having a heart of gold and dealing with a harsh world as he and the orphan (Jackie Coogan) seek to survive and maybe find the America Dream.

The event will also feature two silent shorts. Buster Keaton (the great (‘Stone Face”) in, ‘The Ballonatic’. Expect some madcap stunts. We will also show a silent Laurel & Hardy, ‘You’re Darn Tootin’. This film shows the boys settling into the comedy style that would define their comic genius. The two short silent films will have incidental music.

REEL CHANGE

The Hailsham Film Club is changing for 2010.

The committee will implement many of the ideas canvassed at the 2009 AGM. We will move away from a set programme of classics and concentrate on recent releases that will include foreign language and independent films.

HFC Nostalgia

Under this new section of the club we will continue to show special screenings, which will include re-releases of cinema classics and our transport and other documentary shows.

The Main Changes

• Annual membership will be reduced from £20 to £5
• Members will be entitled £1 off their usual Pavilion admission price for each of our 10 screenings
• Films will continue be shown on a Tuesday in each month apart from in July and August.
• The annual programme will no longer be fixed in advance
• Films will be booked within the Pavilion schedule
• Monthly flyers will be produced and our website www.hailshamfilmclub.co.uk will be updated each month
