Plot Synopsis

The action of "Solnze" takes place in Japan, from August of 1945 to the 1 of January of 1946. On thee 15 of August, Emperor Hirohito makes a plea to his people to stop fighting.

Million of Japanese were left when listening the voice of their emperor for the first time in their life perplexed.

The film portrays the events that lead to the taking of two crucial decisions on the part of Hirohito, both with an important historical meaning. His first was the declaration of surrender, and second it was the resignation of his divine status.

During this period, the Emperor also forms an improbable bond with General Douglas McArthur that made much to solve the situation with the minimum of victims.
