Plot Synopsis

THE LIMITS OF CONTROL is the latest production from celebrated filmmaker Jim Jarmusch (BROKEN FLOWERS, DOWN BY LAW) and features an eclectic mix of talent including Isaach De Bankole, Tilda Swinton, John Hurt, Bill Murray and Gael Garcia Bernal.

Set in the striking and the varied backdrops of contemporary Spain, the stunning location shoot united the writer/director with acclaimed cinematographer Christopher Doyle (IN THE MOOD FOR LOVE, PARANOID PARK) to capture amazing shots and scenic landscapes, complementing the film’s unique story, which Jarmusch is most know for.

The story follows a mysterious loner (De Bankole), a stranger to all, whose activities and workings remain meticulously outside the law. He is currently in the process of completing a job and trusts no one, while his objectives initially remain unrevealed. His journey, paradoxically both intently focused and dreamlike, takes him not only across Spain but also through his own consciousness. The film uses no names and refers to all characters by description and appearances only.

Beautifully shot and timeless, THE LIMITS OF CONTROL delivers another classic slice from Jarmusch’s work to the big screen.
