The Ferryman (tbc)

  • Run time: tbc
  • Genre: Horror
  • Release date: 1st January 2007

Plot Synopsis

A group of young tourists charters a boat in the South Pacific Ocean for the holiday of a lifetime.

A thick fog sets in and they stumble across a sick, dying old Greek man (John Rhys-Davies) drifting alone on a stricken yacht. They soon discover they have stumbled upon an evil that demands vengeance at any cost.

The Greek has been cheating death for centuries, using a mystical weapon, 'The Shifting Blade', to trade broken bodies for new, over and over again. But now is the time of reckoning. The Ferryman, that ancient conveyor of death and the path to the afterlife, is close. And he has come for the Greek.

Tense, thrilling and very disturbing this movie is a return to classic 70s style horror. Evident is less emphasis on detailed gore and more on psychological fear. The movie is akin to films such as THE THING and THE SHINING: well produced and superbly played. It stars John Rhys-Davies (Lord of the Rings, Indiana Jones), Kerry Fox (Intimacy, Shallow Grave) and Tamer Hassan (Football Factory, Layer Cake).

Adrift in the ocean with no help on hand, we soon discover that PAYMENT IS DUE...
