Plot Synopsis
One of the most successful Cuban comedies of the 80s, Plaff is an anarchic parody of all films which allegorise the nation through their female characters. In this comic reduction of the nation's problems to the conflict between mothers and daughters-in-law, Tabío finds the opportunity to lampoon everything from socialist bureaucracy to saint worship, the housing shortage, attitudes to race, sex, family - and the pretensions of film-making.
