Plot Synopsis
A behind the scenes exploration into the world of Hip Hop Mixtapes, beginning with a look at how the phenomenon first began and the game of Russian Roulette that Hip Hop artists regularly play with the mighty music industry. The film illustrates the battle between the Mixtape DJs, Mixtape retailers and bootleggers versus the record labels and the copyright infringement authorities. It is the only area left in Hip Hop that still keeps alive the street rebel elements that gave birth to the initial movement. Although the Mixtapes are illegal the intent of this film is to illustrate the existence, demands, dramatic actions and hustles on both sides of the industry through interviews with virtually every notable DJ involved in the game.
