Plot Synopsis
Set in 19th century French Canada, this is the tale of a fisherman who is sentenced to death after knifing a man in a brawl. French law, however, requires death by guillotine, which the town doesn't have. So, they have to wait several months for one to arrive from Paris, and in the meantime... the man redeems himself by providing valuable services to the town. Can they still kill him?
