Plot Synopsis
François Mangin is unemployed and to make ends meet he is reduced to working as a door-to-door salesman. He hears of a sales job locally and when he applies is told he is shortlisted but must prove his worth over the other candidate. The next day he finds a jar of cream that makes him a ‘star’. Whenever he puts the cream on people around him think he is famous and are in awe of him.
What follows is a series of incidents involving his enterprising rival, a knowing wife, a corrupt businessman, a femme fatale, an honest cop, and ‘loose’ women.
Will it turn out well for him or is fame the road to disaster?
