Plot Synopsis
In 1845 England, a Swedish governess named Elisabeth takes a position caring for a little girl, working for her father, Charles. When she arrives to begin her new position, however, she discovers that Charles is the man she had a brief love affair with year ago, and that Louisa is the little girl she gave up as part of a secret bond. How happens when a mother must keep secret her relationship to her own daughter?
