Plot Synopsis
ANGEL IN KRAKOW is a very warm film that is invested with a healthy dose of humor. It focuses on the highly atypical angel Giordano, played exquisitely by Krzysztof Globisz. Giordano is not your ordinary angel because he likes rock music and prefers to spend time in purgatory with Elvis Presley than in heaven, which he sees as extremely boring. He is sent down to Earth and by mistake winds up not in Holland but in Poland, in the city of Krakow, where... as befits an angel, he does good deeds and makes many mistakes in the process. In spite of having a somewhat sentimental ending, ANGEL IN KRAKOW decidedly stands out against the vast majority of films produced in Poland. It includes an excellent performance by Jerzy Trela as a homeless man who lives on a bench in the park that surrounds Krakow's Old Town.
