Plot Synopsis
This is the story of a widow living in Ireland in the 1967 coping with the burden of seven children. Reviews of the novel have described it as a humorous depiction of family life, with a series of vignettes featuring the many different children of the family, and those that Agnes meets following her husband's death (like singer Tom Jones!).
